The Middleton Curling Club is proud to host the Nova Scotia Masters Provincial Curling Championship. The event is taking place from January 21st until January 25th. The Masters Curling Championships, for curlers age 60 and over, will feature ten (10) Men's and six (6) Women's teams. The Men's division will play a triple knockout and the Women a round robin to a page playoff.
Both the 2011 Men's and Women's Champions are back to defend their titles. The defending Women's Champions captured the Canadian Bronze Medal last season and have made a change at the skip position, Barb Froughton takes over for Sue Green and looks to defend the team's title. Alan Marshall and his Glooscap teammates are looking to earn the right to improve on their 2-5 record at last seasons Canadian Championship.
Winners and runners-up earn the right to compete in the Maritime Masters Championships, February 12-19, at the Bluenose Curling Club in New Glasgow, NS. The winning teams also earn the right to compete at the Canadian Masters, March 26 to April 1 in Montreal, QC.
